Regional or minority languages – case studies
Following the success of the November 2023 colloquium, where a range of examples of practice were presented which focused on regional and minority languages as part of the curriculum and/or a language of schooling, it was decided to conduct further work on the area of Regional and Minority Language education. This work seeks to identify pedagogical needs of the RML professional community which are common to several regions and countries. As a first step, a template was developed to gather data relating to practice in a range of contexts which could then be published in the form of case studies. The template was then piloted on a selection of the examples that had been presented at the colloquium. This has resulted in the case studies featured below.
It is now intended to open this up - inviting further case studies reflecting practice from a wider range of contexts in member states of the ECML and the European Union. A call will be issued in the course of November 2024 for submissions.
