The report highlights in particular the benefits of early language learning by reviewing international research and developments in this field and looking at policies and approaches to language learning. Moreover, the publication outlines critical success factors for primary language teaching common to all education systems.
The report features among others to the work of the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) in the field of Early Language Learning and Content Integrated Language Learning (CLIL).
