The PowerLanguage International Conference will start on Monday 17 September 2018. The 2-day conference for PowerLanguage users is, this year, also open to practitioners and policy makers. The conference topic will be “PowerLanguage within the 1+2 Language Policy: a Scottish Model“, referring to the Scottish Government’s 1+2 language policy. This policy aims to ensure that every child in Scotland has the opportunity to learn two languages throughout their school education. As a language training centre, PowerLanguage has been involved with the implementation of this policy since its inception in 2012.

The conference will be opened by Sarah Breslin, Executive Director of the ECML/Council of Europe in Graz, Austria, with a keynote on “Scotland’s 1+2 Language Policy in the wider European context: common challenges and different approaches. A view from The European Centre for Modern Languages of the Council of Europe.”
