On 6 March 2015 Aristides Baltas, Minister of Culture, Education and Religious Affairs, announced Greece’s decision to renew its membership of the European Centre for Modern Languages – bringing the membership of the Enlarged Partial Agreement to 33 states.
The Minister cited the Centre’s “innovative approaches and the dissemination of good practices in the learning and teaching of modern languages as a pre-requisite for social cohesion, intercultural education and democratic citizenship” as key factors in taking the decision to rejoin the Centre.
It is with particular pleasure that the Centre welcomes back Greece which was one of the founding members of the Partial Agreement - originally joining the ECML twenty years ago on 8 April 1994.
