The conference was an initiative of the European funded network LangOER, and was co-organised with the Educational Repositories Network – EdReNe. The event brought together experts in open education and digital content repositories, educational researchers and policy makers concerned with language education, pedagogical use of ICT, and social integration and inclusion.

Keynote speakers were, amongst others: the president of the European Committee of the Regions “Marku Markkula” and “Konstantin Scheller” of the Directorate General of Education and Culture of the European Commission.

On this occasion, European and global initiatives to support OER uptake were highlighted. As an ECML expert, Pauline Ernest (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya) gave in particular a presentation on “Pedagogy, technology and training for language learning and teaching: the ECML/ICT-REV Project”.
