Twice a year we welcome young graduates from the Centre’s member states as trainees to the European Centre for Modern Languages. It represents an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a multicultural and stimulating work environment. As an organisation, we benefit from the motivation, skills and new ideas that new graduates bring to the Centre. Former trainees have successfully gone on to work in international organisations (such as the European Commission and the United Nations), in national Ministries of Education and to establish teaching careers at school/university level around Europe.
The ECML traineeships last 6 months and are based in Graz, Austria. The typical responsibilities given to trainees include assistance in the areas of:
- administration: e.g. financial data processing, administrative support;
- programme: e.g. logistics support, statistical records;
- website development: e.g. information processing, editing online data, contributing to the European Day of Languages;
- communication, documentation and resource centre: e.g. editorial work, translations, information requests, support for visitors…
There are two official traineeship sessions each year, beginning in April and October.
Only candidates applying online will be eligible. The application deadline is 31 January 2024.
