ECML Workshop on “Signed languages for professional purposes” (15-17 April 2013): Places still available!

The European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) is seeking applications from professionals from Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Poland, Slovak Republic, Slovenia and "the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" to participate in the following 3-day workshop which takes place within the framework of the Centre’s project “PRO-Sign – Signed languages for professional purposes“.

Application procedure:
If you match the profile for this workshop (see attached document) and wish to be considered for nomination as a participant, you should take up contact with your National Nominating Authority (NNA) as soon as possible.
 
PRO-Sign project (2012-2015): 
The PRO-Sign project aims to establish European standards for signed language proficiency for professional purposes, focusing specifically on sign language teaching in Deaf Studies and Sign Language Interpreting programmes. The project will provide definitions of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) proficiency levels for signed languages and develop a sample assessment kit for signed language competency at the C1/C2 level indicating the qualification of professional interpreters.

ECML event:  Workshop No 3/2013 “Signed languages for professional purposes” (PRO-Sign) within the framework of the ECML’s medium-term programme of activities 2012-2015, Graz, Austria
Venue: European Centre for Modern Languages / Council of Europe, Graz, Austria
Date: 15-17 April 2013
Working languages: English and International Sign, with simultaneous interpretation
 
Participants: 1 delegate per member state, to be nominated by the National Nominating
Authorities
Required profile of participants:  see attached document
Number of participants: max. 45
Workshop related costs:  travel expenses and a lump sum allowance towards accommodation, subsistence expenses and local transport is offered by the ECML to one participant nominated by the National Nominating Authority from each member state. No fees are charged for participation.
