On 14 and 15 February, the expert teams of the ECML activities “Electronic European Language Portfolio - Working with an electronic European Language Portfolio for better language learning” and “Online technology - Use of ICT in support of language teaching and learning” discussed details of their 2019 training workshops with local organisers from Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Greece, Montenegro, and Sweden at the ECML in Graz.
More information on the individual training sessions will soon be available on the dedicated websites:
Both activities are part of the ECML training and consultancy offer which enables member states to benefit from European expertise in language education adapted to their concrete needs and specific contexts. ECML experts work with national authorities and local experts to devise and implement in-country activities, tailored to the particular context and target audience.
Training workshops focusing on the e-ELP are targeted at language teachers in primary, secondary and higher education including adult and vocational education, teacher trainers, teachers of other subjects, CLIL teachers. They provide an introduction in an electronic ELP-platform with customised training courses for specific target groups and contexts: CLIL, early language education, higher education, migration.
The events focusing on online technology provide training in the application of pedagogical principles in teaching languages with technology and promote the effective use of ICT tools and open resources in support of quality language teaching and learning. The “ECML inventory of ICT tools and open educational resources”, which was developed by the ICT-REV team. assists teachers in identifying appropriate applications and using them with their learners. The targeted groups are teachers, teacher trainers, policy makers. It initiates local and regional clusters of multipliers promoting the use of ICT tools and open educational resources.
