On 6-7 September 2016, 42 language teachers of Catalan, Castilian, French and English, at primary and secondary level (students aged 8 -18), met in Andorra la Vella, for the ECML training and consultancy event “Looking at
teaching units through the perspective of FREPA” moderated by the FREPA experts: Ildikó Lörincz (Hungary) and Jean-François de Pietro (Switzerland).
The invited teachers participated in a brainstorming process on introducing FREPA activities to their course planning. The facilitators firstly analyzed actual examples of teachers’ course planning and suggested ways of adapting them using a FREPA approach within the Andorran context. Secondly, teachers had the opportunity to give their ideas and impressions within sessions of group work.
This training is part of a national reform process on moving towards skills-based education. Currently, the teaching units for students aged 10 to 18 are being reviewed, in order to develop new units at this level.
The Human Resources and Training Service of the Teaching Staff of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the Government of Andorra was in charge of the local organization of the event (contact : Elisabeth Carpa).
