PIU draws on a mediation concept, in which four ECML publications (MARILLE, PluriMobil, EPOSTL and CLIL-LOTE-START) will be analyzed regarding dissemination activities in the countries of Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Sweden and linked to national activities on the topic of language and intercultural promotion. To do so, we will identify the core idea underlying each ECML publication with the aim of improving the promotion of multilingual and intercultural competence in the multilingual classroom. During the international workshop that will take place in 2014, the participants will develop implementattion plans for the core ideas of ECML publications in the ECML member states.
The end product of this project will be a website where teachers can easily find material (examples of best practices) to support multilingual and intercultural teaching."

International Network of National Language Centres INNLAC
INNLAC’s top priority is the exchange of ideas and experiences among its members; in connection with this objective, INNLAC endeavours to initiate joint projects. The Institute was invited in its function as the Swiss Research Centre on Multilingualism to, for the meantime, participate as an observer in INNLAC. As of 2012, the Institute collaborates with a series of INNLAC partners in the European Centre for Modern Languages ECML approved project “PIU: ECML publications for plurilingual & intercultural education in use”."
