Puppet Pals 2

Principal function(s): Story creators

Puppet Pals 2 is an iOS app for creating animated stories using digital puppets and backgrounds. Users can add their voices, select characters, props, and settings to craft their narratives, and then animate them using simple touch controls. These creations can later be saved and shared. Puppet Pals 2 is available on the Apple App Store, with additional in-app purchases for extra content. Signing up for an account is not required for use. Evaluation: Puppet Pals 2 is fun to use and can boost creativity. It can be useful to help students who dislike speaking in public or for foreign language students who want to improve their pronunciation. Users can invent new stories or retell existing ones using standard characters and backgrounds or import them from their devices. Average IT skills required.

Playphrase (Tool to find the pronunciation of words from movies )

Playphrase is a tool that searches specific words or phrases out of movie snippets from a database of audiovisual media with over 60,000 phrases. Users just have to type specific phrases, watch them being used naturally in context within popular movies and TV shows, and listen to their pronunciation. Playphrase works mainly with English. Playphrase is not open-source, but it is freely available. It does not require setting up an account or signing in. ... View details
