Hejsvenska

Principal function(s): Autonomous learning

Hejsvenska is a tool for learning Swedish. It currently offers four courses with different levels of proficiency. Once users choose a course, they can select between different themes which contain different tasks. Hejsvenska is financed by the Swedish government and the European Union. Evaluation: Hejsvenska is a valuable tool for people looking to start learning or improve their Swedish. It offers lots of visual as well as audio material which can be very helpful for language learning. Its interface is straightforward to use, so it only requires basic IT skills.

Playphrase (Tool to find the pronunciation of words from movies )

Playphrase is a tool that searches specific words or phrases out of movie snippets from a database of audiovisual media with over 60,000 phrases. In this manner, it provides real-life examples of words’ and sentences’ pronunciation.
