Quizizz

Principal function(s): Quiz/exercise makers

Quizizz is a tool which allows teachers to create their own quizzes and students to find answers to their questions. The tool allows teachers to use various question types: multiple choice, checkbox, fill-in-the-blank, poll and open-ended questions. It can be used in class time or for practice, as the teacher can choose between playing live or doing homework. The useful feature for busy teachers is that it allows them to state their standards for grading and view reports of the student's progress. There are many existing quizzes ready for use. Evaluation: With its gamified functionioning, it makes the experience more fun and attractive for students. It allows students to practice on their own or challenge their friends. The students are also rewarded with certain power-ups which they can use after a streak of correct answers. It is possible to set a timer, and also to place students into teams. It can be used to set and keep track of homework. Student progress reports can be set so that parents might access them. It works in classroom settings but also remotely. Suitable for students of any age.
