Educandy

Principal function(s): Game apps

Educandy is a tool that allows rapidly creating short, interactive learning activities. Users enter vocabulary lists or questions and answers and then Educandy converts this input into fun interactive games such as multiple choice, crossword puzzles, hangmans, and other memory games, which can be played with the whole class, or individually. Once an activity is created, a unique code is generated which can then be shared with students so that they can play the games on their own devices. Activities can also be embedded into websites. Educandy was developed by a team of educators. It is free to use and requires signing up for an account to access its features. Evaluation: Educandy is a useful tool for creating interactive activities for students to acquire vocabulary. It is easy to use and does not require much setup time, being a valuable time-saving resource. Basic IT skills required.
