The FTA is the voice of French Teachers in Ireland. Through its National Executive and Regional Branches it organises conferences, in-career development courses and activities for teachers. It also arranges student competitions and quizzes. The FTA is the official representative of second level teachers of French with the Department of Education and Skills, the Ambassade de France en Irlande, the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment, the Subject Association Representative Group and Fédération Internationale de Professeurs de Français.

The National Association for Teaching of English provides publications, training and a platform for English teachers at all key stages to share their expertise and have a voice on issues that affect their practice. Through its campaigning, research and successful partnerships, NATE continues to defend and promote the subject, whilst providing support and enrichment for English teachers and the young people they work with.

NALDIC is the national subject association for English as an additional language (EAL). Our mission is to promote the effective teaching and learning of EAL and bilingual pupils in UK schools. We provide a welcoming, professional forum to learn more about EAL and bilingual learners.

Confucius Institute is a non-profit public organisation that promotes Chinese language and culture, supports local Chinese teaching, and facilitates cultural exchanges. <br/>The Confucius Institute in Sofia offers various Chinese language courses, such as preliminary, intermediate, and advanced Chinese, the Great Wall distance learning courses, and Chinese language courses for children. Since 2009, the institute has begun to teach Chinese to primary and secondary school students. In addition, the Institute conducted an HSK training course.<br/>

The Confucius Institute at Veliko Tarnovo University (CI at VT)is a non-profit educational  institute under the guidance of “Hanban”. The main objectives of the Institute are aimed at promoting the understanding of the Chinese language and culture, enhancing the knowledge of Bulgarians towards China as well as developing friendly relations and boosting the international exchange and cooperation between China and Bulgaria.

L'Espace Campus France de Sofia a été crée en 1998 dans le cadre de la politique globale et continue de promotion des formations françaises développée par l'Institut français de Bulgarie. Les activités de l’Espace sont diverses et orientées vers un public intéressé par des études en France ou en français dans les programmes francophones en Bulgarie. L’Espace apporte une aide concrète et un suivi à la mise en œuvre d’un projet d’études en France : information, analyse du projet et orientation vers une formation et des établissements, procédures de candidature, aide à la constitution du dossier et suivi avec les établissements jusqu’à la réponse définitive, financement du projet, préparation du départ.

Die Gesellschaft der Germanisten Rumäniens (GGR) wurde am 22. März 1990 gegründet; zu ihren Mitgliedern zählen DeutschlehrerInnen aus Hoch-, Mittel- und Grundschulen sowie Kulturleute in Rumänien und im Ausland.<br/><br/>Societatea Germaniştilor din România (S.G.R.) a fost întemeiată la 22 martie 1990; membri ai S.G.R. sunt profesori de limba germană de la toate nivelele sistemului educaţional, precum şi oameni de cultură din România şi din străinătate.

Based in Brussels, Belgium it is a not-profit European non-Governmental organisation (ENGO) comprising National Associations of the Deaf (NADs). It is the only supranational organisation representing Deaf people at European level and is one of the few ENGOs representing associations in all 28 EU Member States, including Iceland, Norway and Switzerland. Aiming to establish and maintain EU level dialogue with the European Union institutions and officials in consultation and co-operation with its member NADs, it also has participatory status with the Council of Europe (CoE). EUD is a full member of the European Disability Forum (EDF) and is a Regional Co-operating Member of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) to tackle issues of global importance. It is supported by the Equality Unit within the Directorate General Justice at the European Commission.

The aim of efsli has always been to provide a forum for discussion and information sharing amongst its members and interpreters at large. Therefore, every year, following the AGM, an efsli seminar or conference has been organised that includes participants from all European nations and guests from all over the world.

The Gruppo SILIS was founded in 1989 in ROME, and since then we fight for promoting the aknowledgement of the Italian Sign Language (LIS) and its right to be used by deaf people, by encouraging researches on Sign Languages, and the realization of  services for the Deaf Community (like interpreting, TV Programs and translations, etc.). The Gruppo SILIS promotes and supports : - the acknowledgement and the right to use the LIS, as stated in 1998 in the European Parliament Resolution; - Researches on Sign Language; - Spreading information about Sign Language and Deaf Culture; - Sign Language Teaching; -  Conferences, workshops and debates on Sign Language; - Trainings for Italian Sign Language Teachers; - Scholarships at italian or foreign study centres in study areas related to the aims of the Association; - Consultancy, partnership and counseling with private or public Institutions and Organizations, national and international, for the realization of courses, programs and debates regarding the Sign Language and the Deaf Culture. Each year we also organize Sign Language courses for hearing and deaf people (1°, 2°, 3° and 4° level), courses for Sign Language Teaching Assistant, Interpreters and refresher courses for Teachers and LIS Researchers, always following the precious advices of the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies (CNR) in Rome.

DYME is a research group of scholars and students who share an interest in multilingualism with English. Research and models are based on the Dynamic System Theory (DST) according to which the development of a system in time is subject to investigation. For several decades DST has been applied in other scientific disciplines such as biology, physics, meteorology, ecology and mathematics, and for some years now this promising approach has also been used in the field of language acquisition research and for studies of (the neurobiological) aspects of bi- and multilingualism. Viewed from a DST perspective, language (development) is a system consisting of many interacting sub-processes (e.g. pragmatic, syntactic, lexical, phonological). It shows variation over time, develops through interaction and self-reorganization, depends on internal and external resources, it shows growth and decline depending on the setting, and it never settles completely. Thus, language = dynamic.

Das Hauptziel des Verbandes ist die Förderung der Angewandten Linguistik in Österreich. Dies beinhaltet: 1. Intensivierung des Austausches zwischen allen im weitesten Sinn angewandt tätigen LinguistInnen in Österreich durch Tagungen, Workshops, unserem Newsletter und weiteren Publikationen, Networking 2. Verbesserung des Kommunikationsflusses zwischen bereits tätigen und noch studierenden bzw. heranwachsenden angewandten LinguistInnen durch, neben den bereits genannten Möglichkeiten, auch Informationen über Diplomarbeiten und Dissertationen 3. Teilnahme an Entscheidungsprozessen / Stellungnahmen zu sprach- und kommunikationsrelevanten politischen Entwicklungen in Österreich 4. Sensibilisierung der Öffentlichkeit für eben diese sprach- und kommunikationsrelevanten Fragestellungen und Angelegenheiten sowie 5. die Vermittlung von diesbezüglichen Dienstleistungen

Die Zen­tral­stel­le für das Aus­lands­schul­we­sen (ZfA) be­treut mit ca. 100 Mit­ar­bei­te­rin­nen und Mit­ar­bei­tern die deutsche schu­li­sche Ar­beit im Aus­land. Welt­weit wer­den über 1.200 Schu­len pädaogisch, per­so­nell und fi­nan­zi­ell ge­för­dert - dar­un­ter 140 Deut­sche Aus­lands­schu­len, die über­wie­gend in pri­va­ter Trä­ger­schaft ge­führt wer­den, rund 25 Deutsch-Profil-Schulen mit ei­nem aus­ge­präg­ten deut­schen Un­ter­richts- und Ab­schluss­pro­fil sowie rund 1.100 Sprachdiplomschulen, die das deutsche Sprachdilom der Kultusministerkonferenz anbieten.Die ZfA vermittelt rund 2.000 Aus­lands­dienst­lehr­kräf­te, Pro­gramm­lehr­kräf­te, Fachberaterinnen und Fach­be­ra­ter aus Deutschland an die­se Ein­rich­tun­gen und betreut diese wäh­rend ih­rer Tä­tig­keit im Aus­land or­ga­ni­sa­to­risch, päd­ago­gisch sowie fi­nan­zi­ell.

Die 1967 gegründete ch Stiftung für eidgenössische Zusammenarbeit wird von allen Kantonen getragen. Ihre Zwecke sind der kulturpolitische Brückenschlag, die Förderung des Föderalismus und die Kohäsion. Seit 40 Jahren fördert die ch Stiftung Austauschprojekte. Die langjährige Erfahrung und ein nationales und internationales Beziehungsnetz unterstützen ihre Arbeit. Die ch Stiftung bietet eine breite Palette von Dienstleistungen und Angeboten für Austausch und Mobilität. Sie ist Vertragspartnerin des Staatssekretariats für Bildung, Forschung und Innovation SBFI, des Bundesamtes für Kultur BAK und des Staatssekretariats für Wirtschaft SECO. Die Stiftung spricht je nach Angebot Fördergelder, kontrolliert deren Verwendung und berät und begleitet die Teilnehmenden vor und während ihren Projekten. GO steht für «Grenzen überschreiten, Erfahrungen sammeln, Wissen erwerben». Wer an einem Mobilitätsprogramm teilnimmt, erweitert seine Kompetenzen und lernt andere Kulturen kennen. Austausch und Mobilität bereichern den Unterricht und tragen dazu bei, Bildungsziele zu erreichen. Das Logo GO fasst alle Austausch- und Mobilitätsangebote der ch Stiftung zusammen.

Foyer is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1969 as a youth centre. Situated in Molenbeek, it is active on the municipal, regional and international levels, focusing on the integration of people of immigrant background. Foyer wants to contribute to an inclusive society, in which all people, regardless of their personal background, can participate. Foyer is a pluralistic organization with respect for diversity at all levels. Foyer considers staff and volunteers commitment to the Foyer mission, as well as a professional approach, to be crucially important. Foyer has always been able to count on the financial support of public institutions as well as on that of individuals.

O Centro de Avaliação de Português Língua Estrangeira (CAPLE) é, desde 31 de Março de 2015, uma Unidade da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, dotada de autonomia científica e que desenvolve a sua atividade nos domínios da avaliação e da certificação da proficiência em Português Língua Estrangeira (PLE), da formação e da investigação relevante para aqueles domínios.

Our mission is to provide high quality language courses and translations and to support our students and teachers to develop both personally and professionally. As Founder and Full Member of QUEST - The Romanian Association for Quality Language Services, PROSPER-ASE Language Centre also promotes and guarantees the provision of language teaching and other language services of the highest possible quality standards through the establishment of a quality assurance scheme. As co-ordinator and partner in several European language projects, PROSPER-ASE Language Centre supports: the development of new and modern assessment instruments and techniques; learning and teaching of Less Widely Used Languages (LWULT); multilingualism and multiculturality.

The institute is funded by the Government and Federal States. It conducts research in the field of adult teaching and learning, continuing education programmes and institutions as well as on the political and institutional contexts of lifelong learning. The institute's research and its research-based services support the development of both continuing education science as well as practice and politics in the field of adult education. Hence, the DIE is equally geared to the needs of continuing education research and practice and pursues a periodical research strategy. This systematic cycle includes the identification of essential and current issues in science, politics and practice of continuing education and lifelong learning, the study of these issues and disclosure of the findings as well as the testing and implementation in the field, or provision of permanent infrastructural services.

Das DGB Bildungswerk ist die bundesweite Organisation des Deutschen Gewerkschaftsbundes (DGB) für die allgemeine, politische und gewerkschaftliche Wissensvermittlung und Weiterbildung. Institute for Foreign Cultural German Studies / German as a Foreign and Second Language

Die Fachstelle Berufsbezogenes Deutsch engagiert sich im Rahmen des bundesweiten Netzwerks Integration durch Qualifizierung (IQ) für die nachhaltige berufliche Weiterbildung und Integration von Migrant_innen. Die Stärkung berufsbezogener sprachlicher und kommunikativer Kompetenzen von Migrant_innen ist zugleich Leitgedanke und Schwerpunkt unserer inhaltlichen Arbeit. Im Netzwerk IQ arbeiten Menschen mit und ohne Migrationgeschichte zusammen, um die Teilhabe von Migrant_innen am ersten Arbeitsmarkt zu fördern. Das Team der Fachstelle besteht aus mehreren Mitarbeiter_innen, die über eine Qualifikation im Bereich der Sprachlehr- und lernforschung oder des Zweitsprachenerwerbs und -unterrichts verfügen. Vor allem ist jedoch jede einzelne von uns seit mehreren Jahren im Kontext des Zweitsprachenunterrichts bzw. der sprachlichen Weiterbildung für Migrant_innen und/oder Flüchtlinge engagiert.

Unionlearn was established in 2006 by the TUC in order to provide an ongoing framework to support union led learning in England. The union learning agenda is itself a dynamic way of developing trade unions, responding to the needs of trade unionists and constitutes an important element of the union offer.

Founded in 1945 and a national public institution since 1987, the CIEP is recognised both in France and abroad for its skills with regard to expert evaluation, training, assessment, and management of international projects. The CIEP is a key public operator under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research. It is in addition the main operating partner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. It relies on a network of national and international experts and partners, as well as on its staff of 250.

Our institution delivers foreign language tuition to students of all ages and backgrounds. Founded under the aegis of the British Council Romania in 1996, today Class includes some of Constanta's finest specialists in the field. The quality of  our services is monitored and assured by the European Language Portfolio.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport is responsible for setting out and implementing Government policy on professional training and university education, as well as for promoting, protecting and disseminating Spanish historic heritage, state museums, the arts, books, reading and literary creation, film and audiovisual activity, books and state-owned libraries, and for promoting and disseminating culture in Spanish. It also promotes cultural cooperation and international relations in the field of culture, the latter in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Polydromo” is an inter-university  special interest group dealing with issues of language contact and bilingualism, that is also composed of parents and other  persons who are interested in  the wider dimensions of bilingualism and multiculturalism in education and society.  It is a non-profit organization that aims at informing teachers and parents on related topics through the periodical publication “Polydromo”, as well as through our web page (www.polydromo.gr), but also through other activities, such as: the provision of information to schools and other institutions; lessons to immigrant children on a voluntary basis; and the projection of various cultural-linguistic groups.

SCILT, Scotland's National Centre for Languages, was established in 1991. Our vision is to promote and support the delivery of high quality language learning within a climate which celebrates all languages. Scotland is already a multi-cultural society where many languages are spoken. This includes indigenous, Scottish languages and those originating from further afield. We want to play our part in ensuring that all languages and cultures are valued and that life-long language learning is recognised as a key skill for life and work. INNLAC (International Network of National Language Centres) represents the voluntary association of national institutions which are charged with responsibility for implementing (aspects of) national language policy. The Norwegian National Centre for Foreign Languages in Education (The Foreign Language Centre) is one of several national centres under The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training and The Ministry of Education and Research. The Centre shall help implement and execute national education policy to enable all children, adolescents and adults to receive equal and adapted education and training of high quality in an inclusive enviroment.

All the member states of the European Union have institutions whose role includes monitoring the official language or languages of their country, advising on language use, or developing language policy. The European Federation of National Institutions for Language provides a forum for these institutions to exchange information about their work and to gather and publish information about language use and language policy within the European Union. In addition, the Federation encourages the study of the official European languages and a coordinated approach towards mother-tongue and foreign-language learning, as a means of promoting linguistic and cultural diversity within the European Union.

L’Association pour le Développement de l’Enseignement Bi/plurilingue (ADEB) a naturellement pour vocation de promouvoir l’enseignement bilingue (mais aussi plurilingue) dans les systèmes éducatifs ; elle s’efforcera de le faire dans l’esprit de la loi de 1901 : disponibilité, militantisme, bénévolat de ses membres, au service d’une perspective commune qui est d’améliorer les compétences linguistiques et cognitives des élèves tout en développant les ouvertures culturelles.

L'Association pour la Promotion de l'InterCompréhension (qui prend pour dénomination l'acronyme APIC) est une association loi 1901. Cette association a été officiellement déclarée à la préfecture de police de Paris en septembre 2009. L'APIC est aidée et soutenue par le Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication (Délégation Générale à la Langue Française et aux Langues de France-DGLFLF).

The EDILIC association intends to congregate all the efforts aiming at facilitating the dissemination of awakening to languages in the school systems, including those in connexion with efforts aiming at the dissemination of other plural approaches (integrated didactics, intercomprehension of related languages, and intercultural approaches)

The Romanian Association for Quality Language Services QUEST Romania was created in May 1996, its aim being to promote and guarantee the provision in Romania of language teaching and other language services of the highest possible quality standards through the establishment of a quality assurance scheme. Founder members of QUEST are seven Language Centres, as well as the British Council Romania. QUEST Romania has been an Associate Member of EAQUALS The European Association for Quality Language Services since February 1998.

Founded in 1992 as an institution affiliated to the VET (Vocational Education and Training) section of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education and Women's Affairs, CEBS (Center für berufsbezogene Sprachen) operates as a national in-service teacher training centre specialising in vocationally-oriented language education. A think-tank and advisory body in matters of professional and institutional development, curricula design and language assessment, it aims at harmonising international educational policies and programmes, as developed and promoted by the European Commission and the Council of Europe, with Austrian initiatives and policies. It considers itself a driving force as regards the integration of ICT into foreign language teaching, the development of teaching/learning concepts related to CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) and of formative assessment and it operates as contact point and switchboard between Austrian VET and economic institutions and businesses at home and abroad. Fostering high-quality language assessment and internationally valid recognition of learner competence, CEBS is also a long established examination centre for international language certificates, offering exams like BEC (Cambridge ESOL), CCIP-diplomas, DELE and CLIDA. The Centre has 17 members of staff, the majority of whom are practising teachers. They provide services in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Russian.

Schule ist ein zentraler Ort zur Vermittlung von Bildung. Deshalb muss sich die Schule genauso weiterentwickeln wie die Gesellschaft. Um dies zu gewährleisten, braucht es verlässliche Information und kompetente Begleitung. Daher hat der Nationalrat 2008 das Bundesinstitut für Bildungsforschung, Innovation & Entwicklung des österreichischen Schulwesens (BIFIE) errichtet. Das BIFIE steht für Qualitätssicherung und Qualitätsentwicklung im österreichischen Schulsystem sowie für qualitätvolle bildungswissenschaftliche Tätigkeiten. Zur Erfüllung dieser Aufgaben wurde das BIFIE mit klaren Aufgaben- und Verantwortungsbereichen sowie einer eigenen Rechtspersönlichkeit ausgestattet.

Depuis sa création l’APPF est membre du Syndicat des Enseignants OELMEK et elle est toujours en collaboration étroite avec les Services de l’Ambassade de France à Chypre et le Ministère de l’Education Nationale et de la Culture.<br /><br /> Activités générales : Organisation de colloques, des séminaires et d’expositions.<br /><br /> Publications : La revue annuelle « FLECHE ».<br /><br /> Situation du français : Le français est enseigné comme langue seconde et obligatoire aux trois classes du collège et en première du lycée. Pour la seconde et terminale du lycée il est en option parmi 7 langues.

L’Association des chercheurs et enseignants didacticiens des langues étrangères (Acedle) est une société savante qui a pour objectif de promouvoir la didactique des langues en tant que discipline scientifique. Contribuer au développement de la recherche, en particulier en favorisant des contacts entre chercheurs français et étrangers et en soutenant la diffusion de ses résultats. Assurer l’interaction constante entre la recherche et la validation sur le terrain pédagogique. Intensifier les liens entre recherche et formation initiale et continue des enseignants de langue, notamment en œuvrant pour une meilleure intégration de la didactique des langues dans les cursus de formation et pour une information des enseignants en exercice.

Cette association regroupe des enseignants et des intervenants extérieurs qui vont dans les classes pour apprendre le savoyard/francoprovençal aux élèves. Elle travaille en lien avec le Ministère de l'Education Nationale et diverses structures de France, d'Italie et de Suisse, pays où le francoprovençal est parlé. L'AES est membre de la FLAREP (Fédération pour les Langues Régionales dans l'Enseignement Public), Lou Rbiolon (Fédération des Groupes de Langue Savoyarde) et le CiF (Conseil International du Francoprovençal).

L'Association des Germanistes de l'Enseignement Supérieur a été fondée en 1967, au moment où les effectifs dans L'enseignement supérieur ont connu une croissance rapide, pour « établir des contacts réguliers entre germanistes, de façon à faciliter leur tâche d'enseignants et de chercheurs » et « travailler au développement des études germaniques ». La mission de l'AGES est de: Susciter des rencontres régulières entre germanistes, donnant aux plus anciens des occasions de se retrouver, aux plus jeunes la possibilité de se faire connaître. Organiser des manifestations scientifiques permettant, entre autres, de faire le point de la recherche, d'explorer des domaines nouveaux et de manifester l'identité et l'unité de la germanistique à travers ses principales composantes, linguistique, littérature, civilisation et autres. Mettre à la disposition des germanistes des informations utiles, de nature administrative ou scientifique, concernant la profession et ses activités : colloques, thèses, publications, etc. Entreprendre, éventuellement avec les autres associations de spécialistes, et sans empiéter sur le domaine des syndicats, toutes démarches utiles à la défense des intérêts de notre discipline.

Das Zentrum für Lehrerfortbildung in deutscher Sprache (ZfL) besteht seit 1998 und ist eine Einrichtung des rumänischen Ministeriums für Bildung und Forschung. Aufgabe des Zentrums ist die Fortbildung aller Lehrkräfte, die in Rumänien das Fach Deutsch als Mutter- oder Fremdsprache unterrichten deutschsprachigen Fachunterricht erteilen im deutschsprachigen Grundschulbereich tätig sind sowie der Erzieherinnen deutschsprachiger Kindergärten.

L’Association Française Des Arabisants (AFDA), association non confessionnelle créé en 1973, a pour vocation d’œuvrer pour le développement des études arabes et orientales en France, de soutenir les enseignants et les chercheurs dans leurs projets et leur vie professionnelle, et d’être l’interlocuteur du ministère de l’Éducation nationale et du ministère de l’enseignement supérieur et de la recherche pour toutes les questions touchant à la politique éducative et de recherche concernant la discipline. L’AFDA regroupe des enseignants de tous les degrés, des universitaires, des chercheurs et des doctorants, mais aussi des journalistes et des diplomates intéressés par les questions relatives au monde arabe et par l’étude des langues et cultures arabes.

L'AFPC, association loi 1901 fondée en 1984, est la seule association représentative de l’enseignement du chinois en France. Elle compte à ce jour 517 membres (enseignants de langue et civilisation chinoises dans le Primaire, le Secondaire, le Supérieur ou dans le cadre associatif) ; l’objet de l’Association est la promotion de l’enseignement de la langue et de la civilisation chinoise.

L’association Cyber-Langues regroupe des enseignants de langues vivantes utilisant les technologies de l’ information et de la communication pour l’enseignement et l’apprentissage des langues. La Société des Langues Néo-Latines est née il y a maintenant plus de cent ans. The Greek Association of German Teachers was created in 1988 and is not situated in Athens. The Association promotes the German language and Culture in Greece and provides information to teachers and students.

The Panhellenic Association of State School Teachers of English (PEKADE), housed in Athens, was set up in 1978 as a non-profit association of teachers of English. Today, its members amount to 3000 teachers in Primary and Secondary state school education. The Association has developed, all over Greece, a wide range of activities with the aim to upgrade the English teacher's role in the field of the English language teaching.

MATEFL is an organisation run by and for teachers of English as a Foreign Language. It is dedicated to the professional development of its members, the majority of whom are employed in Malta's 47 EFL schools, by facilitating the sharing and  exchanging of ideas and keeping abreast of new developments in the EFL world. The Association runs a minimum of three  seminar/workshops a year for its members. The majority of these are led by members themselves in a spirit of sharing the  best of TEFL practice in Malta. Once or twice a year a well-known international practitioner/author is brought over to Malta to lead a workshop for MATEFL.

The German Studies Association is the multi- and interdisciplinary association of scholars in German, Austrian, and Swiss history, literature, culture studies, political science, and economics. GSA holds an annual conference and publishes a scholarly journal, the German Studies Review. APP, Association of Teachers of the Portuguese Language was formed in 1977 with the objective of promoting the teaching of the Portuguese language and supporting its teachers. AILA is the international federation of national or regional associations of Applied Linguistics. Through its member associations, AILA currently has a membership of more than 8.000 individuals worldwide who as researchers, policy makers or practitioners are active in the field of Applied Linguistics. Applied Linguistics is an interdisciplinary field of research and practice dealing with practical problems of language and communication that can be identified, analysed or solved by applying available theories, methods and results of Linguistics or by developing new theoretical and methodological frameworks in Linguistics to work on these problems. Applied Linguistics differs from Linguistics in general mainly with respect to its explicit orientation towards practical, everyday problems related to language and communication.

The Association of French teachers of Andalousia.

FECEI es la organización que representa los intereses patronales del sector de centros de enseñanza de idiomas en España. Es interlocutor válido ante la administración y forma parte de la representación patronal en la negociación del convenio de centros de enseñanza no reglada. Además, FECEI representa a los centros de enseñanza de idiomas en ACADE, la organización que entre otras actividades, negocia el convenio colectivo y las tablas salariales. Aparte de esta representación, FECEI es la referencia para cualquier entidad (incluyendo los medios de comunicación) que quiere información sobre el sector.

Entendemos que la labor de las asociaciones de profesores de francés se estructura básicamente en tres líneas de trabajo: políticas educativas, formación y difusión de la lengua y la cultura francófonas. En un estado en que las competencias educativas están en su mayor parte transferidas a las comunidades autónomas, la implicación y el trabajo de los profesores deberá centrarse mayormente en las asociaciones provinciales y autonómicas. Pero estamos convencidos de que nuestra eficaciadepende en buena parte de la coordinación entre comunidades y también en la canalización y organización de nuestros esfuerzos en niveles nacionales e internacionales como la FIPF (Federación Internacional de Profesores de Francés) y su CEO (Comisión de Europa del Oeste).

La FASPE (FEDERACIÓN DE ASOCIACIONES DE PROFESORES DE ESPAÑOL ) es el resultado de la unión de diversas Asociaciones de Profesores de Lengua Española y Literatura de todo el Estado español. É uma associação de professoras e professores ligados ao ensino da Língua Portuguesa, de âmbito nacional galego, com personalidade jurídica e sem fins lucrativos. La Asociación Aragonesa de Germanistas y Profesores de Alemán es una asociación particular sin ánimo de lucro integrada por germanistas, profesores, estudiantes y otras personas relacionadas con la lengua y cultura alemanas.

We work to promote multilingualism across Europe – and beyond – by supporting institutions which produce examinations and certification for language learners. Through our work we raise awareness of the benefits of a multilingual society, provide a forum in which related issues can be discussed, and set quality standards for language assessment.

La Asociación de Centros de Lenguas en la Enseñanza Superior (ACLES), está destinada a promover el aprendizaje y difusión de distintas lenguas en la Enseñanza Superior.

La Asociación de Profesorado de Escuelas Oficiales de Idiomas de Andalucía (APEOI-Andalucía) se fundó en 1997 como una organización sin ánimo de lucro e independiente que defendiera el interés particular de sus asociados/as y del profesorado de dicho cuerpo en la Comunidad Autónoma andaluza.

La Asociación de Profesores de Español "Francisco de Quevedo" reúne a centenares de profesionales de la enseñanza del español que desarrollan su actividad en la Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid. Cualquier docente dedicado a esta labor puede sumarse a nosotros. Aspiramos a ser un foro donde se compartan experiencias, se busquen soluciones a los problemas que encaramos a diario en nuestras aulas, se encuentre una capacitación pedagógica y una formación a la altura de los tiempos, atenta a las necesidades cambiantes de nuestros alumnos.

Desde la creación de la asociación, su Junta Directiva, con la colaboración de los socios, se ha encargado de estimular, defender y promover los estudios franceses y francófonos en el seno de la Universidad española, así como difundir su labor en el conjunto de la sociedad. En la actualidad la AFUE reúne a casi 500 profesores e investigadores de distintas áreas de conocimiento (Filología Francesa, Traducción e Interpretación, Didáctica de la Lengua y la Literatura, Filología Románica, Lingüística General, Teoría de la Literatura y Literatura Comparada, etc.) y desde 1992 celebra anualmente un Coloquio en el que los socios comparten y discuten, entre sí y con otros colegas extranjeros, sus investigaciones

L’Association des professeurs de français de Valencia  est un lieu de rencontres pour les professeurs, mais aussi, pour les amateurs des cultures francophones.

A AGX nace como asociación en 1995 na Faculdade de Filoloxía da Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, co propósito de promover o alemán en todos os ámbitos da sociedade galega e a súa implantación en todos os niveis educativos do sistema público. A AGX é hoxe membro da FAGE (Federación de Asociaciones de Germanistas de España) e da IDV (Asociación internacional de profesores de alemán). Os eixos máis relevantes de operación da asociación son a formación continuada do profesorado, a oferta de cursos piloto, de horas de cata ou Schnupperstunden de alemán nos centros públicos e o desenvolvemento de campañas de publicidade.

La Asociación Madrileña de Germanistas es una asociación de carácter particular y no lucrativa, formada por germanistas, profesores, estudiantes y profesionales relacionados con la enseñanza del idioma alemán, que trabaja para fomentar la enseñanza de la lengua y el conocimiento de la cultura alemanas.

La AGPACVes una asociación sin ánimo de lucro integrada por germanistas, profesores, estudiantes y todo aquel que esté interesado en o relacionado con la lengua y la cultura alemanas. La Asociación Internivelar de Profesores de Francés de Madrid, es decir, Madrigalia, está formada por profesores de francés de todo el territorio de la Comunidad de Madrid.

La Asociación de Profesores de Francés de Aragón (A.P.F.A.) nació el 25 de mayo de 1982, siendo la más antigua de España en su categoría. Nuestro objetivo es la formación de los profesores y el fomento de la lengua francesa en nuestra región, pero sobre todo pretendemos ser el punto de encuentro del profesorado para intercambio de experiencias, préstamo de materiales, acceso a información,... A lo largo de los años hemos afianzado nuestro proyecto, manteniendo relaciones con la Embajada de Francia en España, con partidos políticos y sindicatos, colaborando con los CIFE, y basando todo nuestro esfuerzo en asumir la defensa del aprendizaje de, al menos, dos lenguas extranjeras obligatorias en Aragón. En la actualidad, la A.P.F.A. cuenta con 150 miembros aproximadamente en 2015.

Given such diversity, the testing and assessment of language proficiency is a crucial component of language policies which aim to respect linguistic and cultural diversity, whilst seeking to ensure that the highest possible quality is guaranteed of the measurement of educational outcomes and of language learning and language proficiency in particular Recent developments in Europe, particularly associated with language policy in the European Union and the Council of Europe, including the dissemination of the Common European Framework and the European Language Portfolio, have highlighted the need for a European language testing association, which speaks for testers in Europe and which has no commercial affiliation or aims. EALTA considers that the enhancement of quality in language assessment and testing is best achieved through international cooperation. EALTA believes that international co-operation can help individuals, institutions and nations learn from each other without any diminution of their cultural autonomy. EALTA aims to represent those involved in language testing and assessment at a European level, including in the European Union and the Council of Europe.

EAQUALS (Evaluation & Accreditation of Quality in Language Services) is an international association of institutions and organisations involved in language education. Its aim is to promote and guarantee high quality in language teaching and learning. To achieve this aim, EAQUALS has created and published a demanding set of criteria to verify the quality offered by its Accredited Members-schools offering courses in a wide variety of languages in 31 countries. These criteria are based on four charters: a General Charter, a Course Participant's Charter, a Staff Charter and an Information Charters. A further aim is to provide an international forum for the exchange and development of expertise in the field of language education, and to develop resources that will support the development of quality in all aspects of language teaching and training.

The Conseil Européen pour les Langues / European Language Council is a permanent and independent association, whose main aim is the quantitative and qualitative improvement of knowledge of the languages and cultures of the European Union and beyond.The association was officially launched in July 1997 by a group of leading European universities and associations with the support of the then DG XXII of the Commission of the European Communities. Membership is open to all institutions of higher education, and all national, European and international associations with a special interest in languages.<br/>With 15 years of policy-making history, our association brings together committed language specialists from around the European continent and beyond to support Europe's language infrastructure, improving societal and individual multilingualism and promoting quality language learning.

EPA gathers the parents associations in Europe which together represent more than 150 million parents. EPA works in partnership both to represent and give to parents a powerful voice in the development of education policies and decisions at European level. In the field of education, EPA aims to promote the active participation of parents and the recognition of their central place as the primary responsible of the education of their children.

EUNIC is the network of the European national institutes for culture. Formed in 2006, EUNIC is a recognised leader in cultural cooperation. EUNIC has 32 members from 26 countries that are based in over 150 countries with more than 2,000 branches and thousands of local partners. The members work in the arts, language, youth, education, science, intercultural dialogue and development sectors. EUNIC network is based on open cooperation and works in a bottom up NGO-style with a compact, independent and flexible administration. On the local level, EUNIC members join together in clusters to collaborate on common projects and initiatives. Clusters can unite members in a country, region or city, depending on the density of local members.  At present there are 88 clusters established in Asia, Australia, Europe, Middle East and North Africa, North America/South America and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Fédération Internationale des Professeurs de Langues Vivantes, founded in Paris in 1931, is the  only international multilingual association of teachers of languages. It has Non-governmental  Organisation (NGO) consultative status with UNESCO and has representation as an NGO  with the Council of Europe. Members of FIPLV may be either international unilingual associations or federations of language teachers, national multilingual associations or national unilingual associations where their language is not represented by an international unilingual federation on the FIPLV World Council. Of the first category, there are currently AEDA for Arabic, LATEUM for English, ILEI for Esperanto, FIPF for French, IDV for German, SIPLE for Portuguese and MAPRYAL for Russian. There is also provision for associate membership. Of the second category, national multilingual associations, which unite teachers across languages at the local level, FIPLV has around twenty-five members from all continents.

The INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MULTILINGUALISM is an international network of scholars who share an interest in multilingualism. The association organizes a conference every two years and its members are regularly involved in organizing workshops, seminars and panel discussions at conferences around the world.

The ICC - the international language association e.V. is a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) with participatory status at the Council of Europe. ICC sets standards for a transnational network of language learners. The ICC is an international association with local impact representing the field of language learning and teaching. The ICC promotes quality in foreign language learning and teaching. As a marketplace for ideas, projects, teachers and courses, the ICC promotes and encourages research and development in language teaching by working together.

As a new Canadian standard bearer for official languages and bilingualism, OLBI strengthens and promotes education and research in the fields of teaching, evaluation and language policy design. It also brings together the University of Ottawa's experts in official languages and bilingualism in four areas: Teaching; Research; Testing and evaluation; Development and promotion.

ADILT promuove la collaborazione con gli istituti culturali dei paesi di lingua tedesca e sostiene manifestazioni culturali nonché aggiornamenti per docenti di lingua tedesca.

"L'Associazione Italiana degli Slavisti" è una libera associazione di studiosi che ha come scopo quello di favorire il progresso degli studi slavistici, stabilendo un organico collegamento fra le persone, i centri di studio e le istituzioni italiane e straniere che si occupano del mondo slavo a livello sia nazionale sia internazionale. Sono soci dell’Associazione i cultori delle varie discipline slavistiche, la cui specifica attività risulti dalle pubblicazioni o dall'insegnamento, studiosi e docenti universitari i cui interessi concernano il mondo slavo nelle sue varie articolazioni. In questa prospettiva l’AIS, intrattenendo rapporti con il CUN e con le altre associazioni disciplinari, si occupa della collocazione e dello sviluppo dell’insegnamento delle discipline slavistiche nell’ambito degli ordinamenti universitari italiani a livello nazionale. L’AIS promuove e sostiene iniziative e pubblicazioni nei vari settori disciplinari che fanno riferimento alla Slavistica, in particolare pubblica la rivista “Studi Slavistici” e cura la relativa collana di studi monografici. L’AIS organizza con cadenza quinquennale un proprio Congresso Nazionale di Studi Slavistica (l’ultimo si è tenuto a Udine nel Settembre 2006). Insieme al IECOB è promotore del Portale sull'Europa orientale e balcanica (PECOB). In qualità di membro permanente del Comitato Internazionale degli Slavisti, organo che gestisce l'organizzazione dei Congressi Internazionali degli Slavisti (si tengono regolarmente ogni cinque anni in uno dei paesi slavi), l’AIS intrattiene regolari rapporti con le altre associazioni slavistiche nazionali europee e extra-europee. L’AIS collabora inoltre con l’International Council for Central and East European Studies. L’AIS partecipa o offre il proprio patrocinio alle iniziative che interessano la letteratura, la cultura, le arti, la storia, la politica e l’economia dei paesi slavi.

L'ADILF si pone come uno strumento di confronto e di dibattito sulle problematiche dell'insegnamento del francese e, più in generale, delle seconde e terze lingue straniere nell'ambito del sistema scolastico italiano. La gestione dell'ADILF è regolata da uno statuto che fissa principi di gestione trasparenti e partecipativi. Con una semplice richiesta, è possibile far parte del Direttivo, il gruppo operativo ed esecutivo delle decisioni dell'Assemblea degli iscritti.

The aims of the Association are as follows: -to identify and to pursue the ideal professional and working conditions for Foreign Language Teachers in order to adequately meet the needs of School and Society, in close cooperation with legislative and executive bodies, Trade Union Organisations, Regional Research Institutes, Local Government bodies, Italian and foreign Cultural Associations; -to expand and to improve the teaching of foreign languages in schools and institutes at all levels and within all university faculties; -to promote the study and knowledge of all modern languages, without exception, in Italy, in full accordance with a policy of multilingualism; -to study general school issues regarding those aspects of a juridical and labour-related nature which concern the profession of teachers of foreign languages, delegating any necessary exploratory studies to Committees or experts designated by the National Executive Committee [Comitato Esecutivo Nazionale] (herinafter called the C.E.N.); -to promote the creation of foreign language teaching posts, increasing those already existing and safeguarding multilingualism within the context of the European Union.

Lend lingua e nuova didattica  è un'associazione culturale senza fini di lucro alla quale aderiscono insegnanti di lingue straniere e di lingua italiana che intendano sostenere il rinnovamento della scuola ispirandosi ai principi dell'educazione e della diversificazione linguistica nell’ottica interculturale indicata dal Consiglio d'Europa e dalla Commissione Europea. La partecipazione di lend a progetti comunitari contribuisce a rinforzarne la spinta innovativa in condivisione con i paesi dell’Unione Europea. Lend si è costituita a Roma nel 1971 su iniziativa di un gruppo di insegnanti rappresentativi dei diversi ordini di scuola con lo scopo di elaborare e socializzare proposte didattiche, confrontare e verificare esperienze, affinare conoscenze e sviluppare competenze professionali. A tale fine gli insegnanti si sono riuniti spontaneamente in gruppi locali che costituiscono tuttora la struttura di lend. L'innovazione metodologica elaborata dagli iscritti a lend viene diffusa, oltre che all'interno dell'associazione, anche al suo esterno attraverso incontri, conferenze, dibattiti, convegni, seminari ? locali e nazionali ? organizzati dall'associazione stessa, ma anche attraverso iniziative istituzionali di vario tipo in cui è richiesta la collaborazione di iscritti lend.

TESOL Italy (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) is a grass roots organization, run by teachers and for teachers. It is a non-profit Italian organization founded in 1975 by Mary Finocchiaro and Renzo Titone along with other foreign language teaching experts and pioneers. TESOL Italy's mission is to develop the expertise of those involved in teaching English to speakers of other languages, and to foster professional growth and active participation in language teaching. Its mission includes promoting community understanding of the role of language in a progressively changing environment while respecting individuals' language rights.

ALFABETO DEL MONDO Onlus è una Associazione di volontariato multietnica e multiculturale che si occupa di promuovere  lo studio delle lingue e delle culture di tutto il mondo, compreso l'italiano per gli stranieri.  Circa la metà dei soci è di nazionalità non italiana. Dal 2008 ad oggi L'associazione ha organizzato oltre 600 corsi di lingue straniere (inglese, francese, tedesco, spagnolo, cinese, giapponese, russo, arabo, portoghese, albanese, italiano, rom, rumeno) per un totale di oltre 7.000 studenti. Nell'area specifica immigrazione e sociale ha tenuto oltre 200 corsi di italiano per stranieri, corsi di mediazione linguistica e interculturale, corsi di recupero e sostegno scolastico e 6 seminari ai quali hanno partecipato 1000 persone. L'ACAM collabora  con il Ministero di Giustizia e con la AS, e i Servizi Sociali dei comuni e della provincia di Cagliari per i programmi di inclusione sociale,  con le scuole, le Università e altre associazioni per programmi di formazione e di riqualificazione professionale, eroga consulenza legale gratuita per gli immigrati, collabora per i programmi di inclusione e di protezione sociale per le vittime di tratta in Sardegna, effettua interventi di mediazione interculturale nelle cuole, nei carceri e nelle adozioni internazionali, organizza convegni e seminari sul tema immigrazione e partecipa attivamente a diverse manifestazioni multiculturali.

AISCLI è un'associazione culturale che promuove l'interesse per gli studi culturali e letterari applicati al mondo postcoloniale di lingua inglese. Si propone di svolgere un ruolo critico e informativo a livello locale, nazionale e internazionale. Si prefigge un'attività di promozione e di ricerca che contribuisca alla conoscenza e valorizzazione delle letterature e culture anglofone.

L’idea è di rilanciare la difesa e il sostegno della lingua italiana su tutto il territorio nazionale con l’intento di riposizionare al centro degli impegni pubblici e privati la nostra identità linguistica e culturale. Pensiamo che questo sia un periodo in cui è ancora possibile fare qualcosa per reagire e difendere la nostra autonomia linguistica. Aprire un dibattito, coinvolgere i cittadini di ogni ambito professionale e culturale, è a questo punto essenziale. Affinché la lingua italiana possa diventare oggetto di progetti interculturali occorre dare un nuovo impulso attraverso una rete di collaborazione con le strutture esistenti. Dobbiamo offrire un’opportunità di costruire una strategia comune che muovendo da azioni pubbliche e private, già in corso, e unendosi a politiche di collaborazione tra le diverse strutture linguistiche e culturali, dia loro forza ed efficacia portando alla realizzazione di nuova realtà il cui traguardo è il 2016 e oltre. Di seguito s’illustrano in modo preliminare alcune iniziative ideate per avviare il progetto: 1. La creazione di un comitato scientifico per la collaborazione degli insegnanti d’italiano delle cattedre universitarie svizzere che sia espressione di un gruppo qualificato di ricerca scientifica nel campo dell’italianistica. 2. Un programma di sostegno da parte dei Dipartimenti culturali cantonali. 3. L’attuazione di una rete divulgativa attraverso una mappa digitale online per favorire la ricerca e la consultazione delle strutture dipartimentali cantonali, delle scuole, delle biblioteche e delle attività culturali e commerciali che hanno chiari riferimenti con la lingua italiana. 4. Un’attività di sensibilizzazione al tema dell’italofonia invitando il pubblico di lingua italiana alla partecipazione ai programmi televisivi che sono trasmessi dalla SRG, SSR, RSI, dalle Radio e dalle televisioni locali distribuite sul territorio. 5. La valorizzazione e la promozione delle iscrizioni ai corsi di lingua e cultura italiana nelle scuole dell’obbligo e nelle università per motivare sempre più persone allo studio ed all’apprendimento della nostra lingua. 6. L’organizzazione e la realizzazione di almeno un evento annuale allo scopo di favorire il contatto e lo scambio d’informazioni tra i nostri soci e gli operatori culturali, gli enti, le istituzioni pubbliche e con chiunque abbia contribuito alla diffusione e lo sviluppo della lingua italiana e dell’italofonia.

Romanian Association of Teachers of English (RATE) is a professional association that constantly supports its members and addresses all speakers of English in Romania. The association highlights the professional qualities of its members and provides educational services. RATE promotes links with other professional associations through regional, European and international projects. We are developing a network of professionals that addresses the Romanian society needs for quality education and worldwide communication.

Der Arbeitskreis Deutsch als Fremdsprache/ Zweitsprache in der Schweiz wurde 1986 gegründet. Er steht allen Personen und Institutionen offen, welche im Bereich Deutsch als Fremdsprache/Zweitsprache tätig sind. Die AkDaF-Mitglieder arbeiten in verschiedenen Bereichen, viele von ihnen in der Erwachsenenbildung, andere an öffentlichen Schulen und Hochschulen aller Landesteile. Der AKDaF ist der grösste DaF/DaZ-Verband in der Schweiz. Der Arbeitskreis hat zum Ziel, das Fach Deutsch als Fremdsprache/Zweitsprache und die berufliche Qualifikation der Unterrichtenden in diesem Fach zu fördern. Dabei vertritt er einerseits die Interessen der Unterrichtenden und andererseits Qualitätskriterien für den DaF/DaZ-Unterricht.

L'ASPI è l'Associazione Svizzera dei Professori e delle Professoresse d'Italiano (Association Suisse des Professeurs d'Italien / Verband der Schweizerischen Italienischlehrpersonen) e fa parte della Società Svizzera degli e delle Insegnanti delle Scuole Secondarie (SSISS / SSPES / VSG). I suoi compiti: promozione e difesa dell'insegnamento dell'italiano; organizzazione di corsi d'aggiornamento per insegnanti; collaborazione con la SSISS; pubblicazione dello Zibaldello; promozione dello scambio d'informazioni tra membri (nell'intranet di questo sito).

ETAS' mission is to promote professional development among English language teachers in Switzerland and together take on the challenges of future education today. To this end, ETAS offers members a variety of opportunities and channels to network, collaborate and share ideas, and to be informed of the most up-to-date methods and materials. ETAS' focus and aims are to recognise and adapt to the ever-changing demands which English language educators face on a daily basis. Our goal is to provide not just more avenues for teachers to interact, share, and learn from each other, but also to make available up-to-date resources that will benefit members as well as attract more teachers to join our Association.

Der Fachverband Chinesisch e.V. (FaCh) ist eine seit 1984 bestehende gemeinnützige Vereinigung zur Förderung des Chinesischunterrichts in allen Bildungsbereichen. Der Fachverband Chinesisch repräsentiert die Fremdsprache Chinesisch im Gesamtverband Moderne Fremdsprachen (GMF);  informiert seine Mitglieder über eine Mailinglist mit aktuellen Informationen zu Chinesisch als Fremdsprache weltweit; publiziert die Fachzeitschrift "CHUN-Chinesischunterricht" und die Reihe "Sinolinguistica"; unterstützt die interdisziplinäre Forschung bezüglich der Vermittlung der chinesischen Sprache und Kultur; fördert Bemühungen zur Etablierung von Chinesisch in den Fächerkanon der Schulen; organisiert entsprechende überregionale Fachtagungen und Arbeitsgespräche; bietet Beratung bei der Entwicklung von Lehrwerken und Curricula und mit seiner Website ein Forum zum Thema Chinesisch als Fremdsprache.

Die Interessengruppe «Fremdsprachenunterricht an Hochschulen der Schweiz» (IG-FHS) ist ein Verein im Sinne von Art. 60ff. des Schweizer Zivilrechts. Der Verein ist Mitglied von CercleS (Confédération Européenne des Centres de Langues de l'Enseignement Supérieur), dem europäischen Dachverband unabhängiger Vereinigungen von Sprachenzentren. Die Interessengruppe «Fremdsprachenunterricht an Hochschulen der Schweiz» (IG-FHS) wird als kooperierendes Netzwerk in die entsprechenden Arbeitsbereiche der CRUS einbezogen und auf CRUS aufgeführt.

Der Ledafids ist das Netzwerk der Lehrenden im Bereich DaF/DaZ an Universitäten und Fachhochschulen der Schweiz. Der Ledafids wurde am 20. Dezember 1988 in Freiburg/CH gegründet. Für die damaligen Lektorinnen und Lektoren für Deutsch als Fremdsprache an den Schweizer Universitäten bestand das Bedürfnis, ein Forum zu schaffen, das den Austausch unter den Mitgliedern garantiert. Heute sind die Funktionen der Mitglieder, die alle an Schweizer Hochschulen unterrichten, weit differenzierter (Professorinnen und Professoren, Lehr- und Forschungsräte, Assistentinnen und Assistenten, Lektorinnen und Lektoren, Dozentinnen und Dozenten, Leiterinnen und Leiter von Sprachenzentren oder Selbstlernzentren, Lehrbeauftragte, Selbständigerwerbende). Sie alle sind tätig in der Lehre im Fach DaF/DaZ in den BA- und MA-Studiengängen, in der Sprachlehre in Deutsch als Fremdsprache an den Hochschulen oder in der Forschung und Entwicklung. Trotz der heutigen Vielfalt der Funktionen wird an der ursprünglichen Bezeichnung Ledafids festgehalten. Der Austausch unter den Mitgliedern über die regionalen Sprachgrenzen hinweg ist ein zentrales Anliegen des Ledafids.

Das Institut für Mehrsprachigkeit widmet sich der Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Mehrsprachigkeit in ihren sprach­wissenschaftlichen, sozialen, politischen, wirtschaftlichen und pädagogischen Facetten. Forschungsschwerpunkte des Instituts sind insbesondere die Bereiche Schule und Unterricht, Migration, Arbeitswelt sowie Evaluierung von Sprachkompetenzen. Das Institut für Mehrsprachigkeit wird von der Universität Freiburg und der Pädagogischen Hochschule Freiburg getragen. Die Tätigkeiten des Instituts für Mehrsprachigkeit werden massgeblich durch die Adolphe Merkle-Stiftung sowie die Stiftung für Forschung und Entwicklung der Mehrsprachigkeit des Staates Freiburg gefördert und finanziert. Das Institut führt das von der Schweizerischen Eidgenossenschaft unterstützte Wissenschaftliche Kompetenzzentrum für Mehrsprachigkeit.

The European Association for Computer Assisted Language Learning (EUROCALL) is an association of language teaching professionals from Europe and world-wide, which aims to: promote the use of foreign languages within Europe; provide a European focus for the promulgation of innovative research, development and practice relating to the use of technologies for language learning; enhance the quality, dissemination and efficiency of CALL materials; support  Special Interest Groups (SIGs).

The ATI is an association of teachers of Italian in primary and secondary schools in Ireland. The current committee has representatives of the various levels in schools. Elections for a new committee are held every two years. The current committee will remain in place until the next elections.

Cluj English Teachers’ Association is a regional, non-profit association which is meant to constantly support its members – teachers of English as a foreign language – by promoting professional and personal development, by facilitating national and international networking, access to information and the sharing of the best ELT ( English Language Teaching) practice while enhancing their status as professionals and making their voices heard in the wider community. Mention must be made that CETA is one of the four regional associations, which make up "The Romanian Association of Teachers of English" (RATE), which represents Romania at national level. All of the four associations take turns in organising the annual RATE National Conference once every four years, while also fulfilling the role of RATE Chair throughout the year when they are in charge of the conference.

The German Teachers’ Association of Ireland helps teachers of German with the teaching and learning of German. The Association represents the views of German teachers. They have a representative on the NCCA and other curriculum-related committees.The GDI has a committee which serves a two-year term. The present term began in November 2012 and will end in November 2014.

AULC is an organisation for all staff working in HE language departments and centres in the UK and Ireland. Around 80 Universities are currently members. The aims of the Association are: To encourage and foster good practice and innovation in language learning and teaching, and effective resource management and administration; To hold regular meetings of members to facilitate discussion and exchange information on the diverse activities of university language centres; To facilitate contacts with university centres internationally and to promote university language centres both within and outside the university community; To monitor emerging national and international language standards and develop appropriate quality assurance mechanisms.

Currently active across the major cities of the five continents the Istituto Italiano di Cultura network represents not only an ideal meeting point for intellectual and artistic dialogue, but also an excellent opportunity for Italian and foreign citizens who wish to establish or maintain a relationship with our country. The Istituto Italiano di Cultura acts as an image of Italy and as a useful source of information on the Italian system. It is the driving force behind an array of cultural initiatives and cooperation. It is the fundamental reference point for the Italian community abroad and centre of the growing demand for Italian culture around the world. By supporting the work carried out by the Italian Embassies and Consulates, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura network efficiently promotes the image of Italy as a centre of production, conservation and diffusion of culture from the Classical age to nowadays.

The NCCA was established on a statutory basis in 2001. Before that, it was a non-statutory organisation for over 20 years. The mission is to: advise the Minister for Education and Skills on curriculum and assessment from early childhood to the end of second level; engage with learners, teachers, practitioners, parents and others to support innovation in schools and other educational settings; undertake, use and share research as a basis for advice and debate on education.

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach. The Goethe-Institut Irland organises and supports a wide spectrum of cultural events which present German culture abroad and promote the inter-cultural dialogue.<br/><br/>Our Language Department in Fitzwilliam Square promotes the German language in Ireland through its language courses, examinations, training seminars for teachers and its advertising campaigns for German.<br/><br/>The Information and Library Service of the Goethe-Institut Irland provides information on current aspects of cultural, social and political life in Germany. It offers extensive collections of books and other media to those who are interested in Germany, and together with the Teachers' Library, it is the first point of contact for those who are interested in learning or teaching German.

WIGS was established in 1988 with the aim of bringing together female Germanists in Great Britain and Ireland and supporting them in all aspects of their professional life. Membership is open to any woman who is currently teaching, studying, or working in any area of German Studies, or who has done so in the past. The main event organised by WIGS is the annual conference, which takes place at a different institution each year in November.

The Forum for Germanic Language Studies (FGLS) is an informal grouping for anyone interested in Germanic languages, and is mainly based in the UK and Ireland. It also functions informally as the British and Irish subject association for academics in the field of Germanic Linguistics. The inaugural meeting was held in Manchester in 1994, under the name of the Forum for German Language Studies. At the 1996-meeting in York the name was changed to reflect the interest in languages other than German. The purpose of FGLS is to promote research and teaching in the Germanic languages.

The Association for Language Learning (ALL) is the major subject association for those involved in teaching foreign languages at all levels.  There are currently 4,500 members. The Association actively promotes the teaching and learning of foreign languages by: providing information and publications; organising professional development activities; acting as a public voice on behalf of members.

The aim of ASMI is to promote the study and knowledge of Italian history, politics, culture and society from the eighteenth to the twenty-first century from whatever discipline. In the pursuit of this aim, ASMI organizes annual conferences and also sponsors other events including conferences, seminars, lectures and exhibitions in the UK and abroad. ASMI regularly advises UK higher educational bodies on matters relating to the teaching of Italian language and culture.

Bucharest English Teachers Association is a regional Association, open to teachers from the following counties: Bucharest, Ialomita, Dimbovita, Constanta, Teleorman, Calarasi, Arges, Giurgiu, Olt, Dolj. We intend to help the development of a network of professionals responding the needs of the Romanian society for quality education, flexibility, identity and worldwide communication.

At the AUPHF, our mission is to defend the specificity of French within the general advocacy for languages. We represent and nurture all areas of French studies, including French language, French and francophone literature, film, culture, history, politics and linguistics. By serving the interests of our subject constituency, monitoring its changing needs and encouraging the exchange of ideas, we strive to protect vulnerable areas within our discipline.<br/><br/>We also work with other groups to realise our goals. We liaise with Funding Councils, the British Academy, the AHRC and other research support bodies, and the British and French governments; key to our role is bringing together associations representing particular areas of our field and those responsible for the direction and organization of the subject.

The aim of the English Association is to further knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the English language and its literatures and to foster good practice in its teaching and learning at all levels. The English Association was founded in 1906 by a small group of English teachers and scholars, including F.S. Boas, A.C. Bradley and Sir Israel Gollancz. It took a leading part in the movement to develop English studies in schools, while encouraging advanced studies in further education.

The Society for French Studies is the oldest and largest association in the UK and Ireland, actively representing the interests of scholars and students of French in Higher Education and sustaining a disciplinary community at a time of rapid change. Our internationally renowned journal, French Studies, has appeared continuously since 1946. Published by Oxford University Press, it includes articles on the literature, language and culture of France and the wider Francophone world, encompassing periods from the medieval to the modern and contemporary, and covering work on thought and the history of ideas, cultural studies, film, and critical theory. The journal is valued internationally as the most comprehensive source of reviews of publications in French studies, unmatched in their breadth and quality, and it also includes ‘états-présents’ outlining some of the key developments in the field. We have also published for over three decades French Studies Bulletin: A Quarterly Supplement, which is the sister journal to French Studies. It publishes short articles on topics spanning all areas as well as on topical issues and debates.

SLAS was founded in 1964 and is one of the leading Latin American studies organizations in Europe. We hold an annual conference in March/April, an Annual Lecture and publish the Bulletin of Latin American Research (BLAR). We have around 400 members. While most are academics and PhD students, members also include diplomats, journalists, and research analysts from business and non-governmental organisations.

The British Association for Japanese Studies is a UK-based association of scholars and researchers dedicated to the development of Japanese Studies. Our aim is to promote teaching and research on Japan by coordinating events such as academic conferences and circulating information about the field.

The British Association for Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language (BATJ) was formed in March 1998, with the aim of encouraging and promoting Japanese language education in the U.K., particularly by stimulating teaching and encouraging research in the field of language studies as an academic discipline.  The Association's first conference was held in London in September 1998, at the Japan Foundation Nihongo Centre which co-hosted the conference.

In 2000, Japanese was chosen by the Department of Education and Science as one of the target languages to be expanded in secondary level schools. Since then, the number of schools teaching Japanese has increased remarkably. Five universities offer Japanese as a part of the degree, and there is a steady increase in the number of the people studying Japanese at language schools. The JLTI aims at encouraging and promoting Japanese language education in Ireland through teaching and research. Our activities include holding seminars and workshops as well as annual speech contest. Members share teaching materials, and exchange information through our mailing list.

BALEAP supports the professional development of those involved in learning,teaching, scholarship and research in English for Academic Purposes (EAP). It was founded in 1972 as SELMOUS (Special English Language Materials for Overseas University Students) and changed its name to The British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes in 1989 and then to BALEAP in 2010.

FILTA is an association of language teachers, film educators and researchers. FILTA was formed for the purpose of providing a forum for the exchange of information related to the use of film in language teaching. We are also concerned with issues dealing with education, instruction and training in multimodal literacy and its application to language learning.

Glasgow ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Forum was established in 1998 as a membership organisation. Our mission is to assist the integration, employability and personal development of asylum seekers, refugees, economic migrants and marginalised black and minority (BME) groups by developing their proficiency in English Language. In 2004 the Forum became incorporated and obtained charitable status.

RATE is a legal entity founded in 1991 out of the most natural desire of laying the basis of a professional association for the teachers of English from the Iasi county and the surrounding region, an association that would give equal chances to all teachers to make their activity known to the others, to share experience with the others, to take active part in professional events meant to enhance their expertise.<br/>At present RATE has a membership of about 200 teachers from the counties of Iasi, Bacau, Botosani, Suceava, and Vrancea.

ISMLA exists to provide a forum for modern language teachers in independent secondary schools to meet, share ideas and inform themselves about and contribute to developments in modern language teaching. ISMLA’s activities can be summarised as follows: We represent the views of member schools vis-a-vis government, awarding bodies and other organisations. We have a close working relationship with ALL (The Association for Language Learning). We publish a termly newsletter (past editions of which can be downloaded from this website). We hold a National Conference every Spring Term. We run conferences from time to time dedicated to individual language areas (e.g., German, Spanish). We offer schools and organisations support for other events, such as regional conferences.

NATECLA (National Association for Teaching English and other Community Languages to Adults) is the national forum and professional organisation for ESOL teachers. When you join NATECLA you become part of the community of ESOL and community language teachers in the UK. We also operate regional branches in the North West, Yorkshire & the Humber, Midlands and London. You will have the opportunity to be part of your local branch to help inform and shape the future of the organisation. The branches also organise training events and workshops several times a year.

NALA, The professional network for advice on languages in education is a long-established association for those who provide advice, support, training and inspection in the languages field. It is entirely independent but working closely with other specialist agencies and organisations and highly regarded nationally for the expertise, experience and judgement of our members. Furthermore, it is influential in the development of national and local policy.

The Scottish Association for Language Teaching is run by, and on behalf of, modern language teaching professionals working in Scotland. We are committed to the teaching and promotion of modern languages across the entire spectrum of Scottish life and work very closely with the Scottish government, SQA, and with a range of agencies both at home and abroad.

SATEAL (or SATESL as it was originally called) was formed in the late 70's, when the arrival of the Vietnamese Boat People brought ESL into greater prominence in Scotland. It provides useful resources for those of you teaching English as an additional language.

SATEFL was set up several years ago for English language teachers to meet and liaise with like-minded people and work towards promoting our profession. SATEFL is a non-profit-making association with a membership drawn from a wide spectrum of people interested and/or involved in some aspect of English Language Teaching and Learning.  It aims to provide a forum in Scotland for talks and workshops presented by both local members and speakers from further afield.

The Associations was established in June 1993. It is a non-profit volunteer organization that wants to promote Chinese culture, and to carry forward the spirit of Chinese Schooling. Also it promotes the exchange of teaching and improves teaching standards. And jointly promotes the cause of Chinese education in the UK.

The University Council of Modern Languages (UCML) was established in 1993 and is the overarching national organisation which represents the interests of modern languages, linguistics and cultural and area studies in higher education throughout the United Kingdom, and works with corresponding bodies in other countries. UCML represents the views and opinions of scholars and professionals in modern languages to Government, the funding councils and other bodies at national level; collects and disseminates information about the state of study, research and teaching of modern languages in the United Kingdom; provides a forum for debate on issues of concern to its members through meetings, working parties, discussions, conferences, seminars and publications; presents the case for languages in the media.

The Association of Hispanists of Great Britain & Ireland is a professional association of University teachers and researchers in all areas of Hispanic and Lusophone Studies in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This website provides information about the Association and about events and activities in which Hispanists are involved.

The Association is established to advance and develop research and education concerning modern and contemporary France in the United Kingdom. Since its foundation in 1979 members of the Association for the Study of Modern and Contemporary France have seen expansion, retraction and reorganisation of the teaching of French in higher education. Throughout the past thirty years it has provided a forum for those involved in teaching and researching modern France and the Francophone world.

Timisoara English Teachers' Association is a regional association which is open to English language professionals from Timis and the neighbouring counties. TETA is part of RATE (The Romanian Association of Teachers of English), the federation including three other regional associations: CETA (Cluj), BETA (Bucuresti), and MATE (Moldova). RATE is also member of IATEFL. TETA's, as well as RATE's, vision is to develop a network of professionals that addresses the needs of the Romanian society for quality education and worldwide communication.

Der AKS bietet allen interessierten Institutionen und Personen - Vernetzung und Austausch - Zertifizierung und Weiterbildung im Bereich Sprachlehre an Hochschulen und beschäftigt sich detailliert mit - Forschung und Qualitätsentwicklung in den o.g. Bereichen - Internationalisierung und Sprachenpolitik Dem AKS gehören ca. 150 Sprachenzentren und vergleichbare Hochschuleinrichtungen in Deutschland, Frankreich, Österreich und der Schweiz an. Darüber hinaus arbeiten in ihm zahlreiche Fachvertreter aus anderen Hochschuleinrichtungen - wie philologischen Instituten und Fachbereichen - mit. Eine Reihe von Verbänden und Arbeitsgemeinschaften sind inzwischen ebenfalls Mitglied im AKS.

Der Deutsche Russischlehrerverband, Bundesverband der Lehrkräfte und Freunde der russischen Sprache in Deutschland e.V., ist ein rechtsfähiger, eingetragener Verein mit Sitz Kassel und vom Finanzamt Neuss als gemeinnützig anerkannt [Az. 122/5883/1004 (1998)]. Der 1962 gegründete Verein ist Mitglied bei MAPRJAL, der Internationalen Vereinigung der Russischlehrkräfte. Der DRLV ist der Dachverband aller freien Landesverbände der Russischlehrer in Deutschland. Seine Verbandsstruktur folgt dem föderativen demokratischen Aufbau der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Alle Bundesländer sind durch ihre Landesverbände im Deutschen Russischlehrerverband vertreten.

The English Language Teachers' Association (ELTA) Rhine is a professional association of English teachers in the Rhineland. Approximately half our members are native speakers of English who teach either freelance or as employees of private language schools. The balance are German nationals teaching in state secondary schools or higher education. Most of our members live and work in the Bonn, Cologne and Düsseldorf conglomerations, but our catchment area also extends into the Ruhr to the north, as far as Koblenz in the south, and to the east and west includes such cities as Aachen, Krefeld, Mönchengladbach and Wuppertal.

The English Language Teachers' Association Berlin-Brandenburg e.V is a regional professional association for teachers of English working in the Berlin-Brandenburg area. The goal of ELTABB is to offer professional development to English language teachers. The association was established in 1993 and formally registered as an association (e.V.) in early 1994. Membership has since grown to around 200 consisting of native and non-native speakers from all over the world. Members include freelance teachers working for companies and language schools, state school teachers and university lecturers, entrepreneurs who run schools and agencies, management consultants and published authors.

English Language Teachers Association Stuttgart (ELTAS) was founded in 1989 as a professional association based in Stuttgart, Germany, with the aim of providing a forum for the professional development of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language.Since its inception, ELTAS has grown into a recognised body registered under German law as a nonprofit-making charitable association (gemeinnütziger e.V.).

ELTAF is a regional professional organization for teachers of English as a foreign language. ELTAF is dedicated to the ongoing development of English teachers and regularly provides workshops aimed to improve teaching skills, share ideas for classroom activities and encourage communication between our members.  Some workshops are also focused on helping self-employed and freelance trainers with the business side of teaching - from information about tax laws to advertising and contract writing. We are an officially registered association (e.V.) with nearly 400 members who come from all over the world and teach English in a variety of sectors.

The Hamburg English Language Teaching Association (HELTA) brings together teachers of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in North Germany. MELTA is a regional professional association for all teachers of English working in the Munich area: freelance teachers at companies, private schools and the VHS as well as state school teachers. Established in 1989, MELTA is part of a wider network of English teachers organizations throughout Europe and has especially close ties to other English Language Teachers Associations (ELTAs) in Germany. MELTA is also affiliated to the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL), based in the UK.

The German Association for Teachers of English, English and more (E&M e. V.), represents the interests of teachers of English as a foreign language, irrespective of types of school and age of students. It also addresses academic staff in the fields of adult education and in-company language trainers. E&M is an associate of the Gesamtverband Moderne Fremdsprachen (GMF), a multi-language umbrella organization representing the interests of all teachers of foreign languages in Germany. Furthermore E&M is networked with English language teachers associations worldwide. Via the GMF, E&M is associated with the Fédération Internationale des Professeurs de Langues Vivantes (FIPLV).

Der Verein dient der Pflege und Verbreitung der französischen Sprache und Kultur. Der Verein richtet dabei sein besonderes Augenmerk auf den Unterricht der französischen Sprache an deutschen Bildungseinrichtungen. Er versucht, bei der Entwicklung des Französischunterrichts und -studiums sowie bei der Lehrerfortbildung mitzuwirken. Die Vereinigung fördert den Lehrer- und Hochschullehreraustausch zwischen Deutschland und Frankreich und strebt darüber hinaus Kontakte zwischen Französischlehrern auf internationaler Ebene an. Zu diesen genannten Zwecken ist die Vereinigung Mitglied der Fédération Internationale des Professeurs de Français (F.I.P.F.) in Sèvres und arbeitet mit Institutionen zusammen, die ähnliche Ziele verfolgen. Er sorgt dafür, daß den Zielsetzungen des Deutsch-Französischen Freundschaftsvertrags in bezug auf den Französischunterricht in Deutschland entsprochen wird. Der Verein gibt die Zeitschrift französisch heute heraus, die der laufenden Information entsprechend den Zwecken der Vereinigung von Absatz (2) bis (6) dient. Die Zeitschrift ist für Mitglieder bestimmt und kostenlos.

L'ADI è l'Associazione dei Docenti di Italiano in Germania. L'idea di base è la convinzione che l'italiano in Germania si trova di fronte ad una serie di sfide che possono essere affrontate solo mettendo insieme le forze e l'esperienza di tutti, perché la posizione dell'italiano si può ridefinire e consolidare solo se si esce dalla settorialità dei vari ambiti d'insegnamento. È per questo che l'ADI è aperta a tutti i docenti di italiano e a quanti vorrebbero diventarlo, dagli asili nido alle Volkshochschulen, passando per le scuole elementari, i licei, le università e gli istituti privati.

Die Bundesvereinnigung der Polnischlehrkräfte ist ein Fachverband. Sie vertritt die Interessen der in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland tätigen Polnischlehrer und -dozenten. Mitglieder können natürliche und juristische Personen werden: Dozenten in der Erwachsenenbildung, im schulischen und akademischen Betrieb oder Einrichtungen und Organisationen, die sich mit der Lehre des Polnischen befassen. Auch angehende Lehrer des Polnischen als Fremdsprache können Mitglieder sein.

Der Fachverband Russisch und Mehrsprachigkeit wurde am 28. März 2008 in Leipzig gegründet. Zu den 16 Gründungsmitgliedern gehörten sowohl Russischlehrer/-innen als auch Lehrkräfte an Universitäten. In der Gründungsversammlung einigten sich die Anwesenden auf die in der Satzung formulierten Ziele der Verbandsarbeit sowie Regularitäten der Vereinsführung und beantragten die Mitgliedschaft im GMF. Der Fachverband Russisch und Mehrsprachigkeit ist ein eingetragener Verein und wird damit im Vereinsregister geführt.

Seit 1997 entwickeln die Fachvereinigung Niederländisch und das Institut für Niederländische Philologie das Projekt Fachdidaktische Mediothek. Die Nederlandse Taalunie unterstützte dieses Projekt mit einem jährlichen Zuschuss bis zum Jahr 2000. Die Mediothek befindet sich im Keller des Hauses der Niederlande, Alter Steinweg 6/7 im Zentrum Münsters. Hier finden Sie unter anderem eine große Auswahl von Lehr- und Übungsbüchern, Kinder-, Fach- und Jugendliteratur, Hörmaterial, Videos und noch einiges mehr. Alle Mitglieder sind herzlich willkommen, im Haus der Niederlande in Münster (Alter Steinweg 6/7) selbst zu stöbern.

ELTAU e.V. has been running since 2003. It brings together teachers of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in southern Germany. We are a not-for-profit organization run by volunteers. Our members, both native and non-native speakers of English, come from all teaching sectors. Our goal is to provide a forum for sharing experience and developing professional expertise. During the year we run seminars, talks, workshops and informal "idea exchange" sessions on a wide range of subjects relating to EFL. The emphasis is on practical teaching and training ideas. Our speakers and facilitators come from the local area and other parts of Germany, as well as from abroad.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Fremdsprachenforschung (German Society for Foreign (and Second) Language Research) aims to bring together researchers in one or more of the following fields: teaching and learning foreign languages; acquisition and use of second languages; multilingualism; intercultural learning. Currently, the DGFF has more than 400 members worldwide and would like to invite researchers sharing our goals to join the association.

Créée en 1975, l’APLF GN se bat activement contre la mise à l’écart du français dans l’enseignement public et privé. Elle coordonne également les démarches auprès du Ministère de l’ Éducation Nationale et des Cultes en vue d’une meilleure position du français dans les établissements de la Grèce (surtout les régions de Macédoine, Thrace et Thessalie et le département d’ Ioannina). ; Elle ne tient aucun rôle officiel, mais elle est cependant un interlocuteur privilégié du Ministère de l’ Éducation Nationale et des Cultes, qui prend en compte ses rapports, ses lettres de protestation et ses propositions.

Kruh moderních filologů je společenská organizace, která vyvíjí činnost jako vědecká společnost sdružená v Radě vědeckých společností AV ČR. Je to dobrovolná výběrová organizace vědeckých a pedagogických pracovníků v oblasti jazykovědy, literární vědy a didaktiky cizích jazyků i adeptů těchto oborů z řad studentů na vysokých školách.

The Federation of Foreign Language Teachers in Finland SUKOL is a central organization (founded in 1957) of associations of foreign language teachers, with 29 local and 8 national member associations. SUKOL is a pedagogic organization whose aim is to promote the instruction and study of foreign languages in Finland.

L’APLV est la plus ancienne (1902) et la seule association regroupant des enseignants de toutes langues, de la maternelle à l’université. Elle est entièrement indépendante de l’administration. Ni organe officiel, ni syndicat, elle ne reçoit en tant qu’association aucune subvention, et ses membres sont entièrement bénévoles.

he Association is to motivate and support the cultivation, teaching and research in all branches of applied linguistics; including Hungarian language teaching either Hungarian is taught as mother tongue or as a foreign language. The Association promotes research work on language usage, language teaching and learning, aids the language teaching activity itself with a view to the teachers' graduate and post-graduate training. The association wishes to represent and act in the interest of Hungarian applied linguistics, language teaching and teachers both in and outside Hungary. The Association intends to increase awareness throughout the Hungarian society of the importance of language learning and teaching. It will use its entire means to widely publish and spread information, documents, periodicals and proceedings on language learning.

STÍL, The Association of Foreign Language Teachers in Iceland, which is an umbrella organization of foreign and second language  teachers.  In Iceland we teach Danish, English, French, German, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish and Icelandic as a second language in Iceland. With a membership of 800, its role is to provide language teachers with support and assistance in their professional development.
