MERLIN offers an online platform that enables users of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to explore authentic written learner productions for Italian, Czech, and German for didactic purposes. The web-based interface illustrates A1-C1 level learner texts. MERLIN can be used for language teaching in the classroom to make students understand CEFR levels. It can be used by textbook and material writers in order to explore crucial aspects of language learning, such as learners' use of collocations, verbal aspect, and mood, etc. Also, textbook writers can find authentic examples for material writing.

The European Survey on Language Competences (ESLC) is designed to collect information about the foreign language proficiency of students in the last year of lower secondary education or the second year of upper secondary education. The intention was not only to undertake a survey of language competences but a survey that should be able to provide information about language learning, teaching methods and curricula.

The European Commission described the purpose of SurveyLang as providing participating countries with comparable data on foreign language competence and knowledge about good practice in language learning. It is also intended to be an indicator to measure progress towards the objectives of improving foreign language learning.

The EPG is a tool for mapping and assessing language teacher competencies internationally. It contains sets of descriptors organised over six stages of professional experience as a language teacher (novice to very experienced) and summarises the main competencies of language teachers and the background in training and experience that would be expected at each stage.

EALTA is a professional association for language testers in Europe. The purpose of EALTA is to promote the understanding of theoretical principles of language testing and assessment, and the improvement and sharing of testing and assessment practices throughout Europe.
EAQUALS is an international association of institutions and organisations involved in language education. Its aim is to promote and guarantee high quality in language teaching and learning. To achieve this aim, EAQUALS has created and published a demanding set of criteria to verify the quality offered by its Accredited Members-schools offering courses in a wide variety of languages in 31 countries.
