Beyond CLIL – Pluriliteracies teaching for deeper learning

The development of pluriliteracies is key to the learner’s conceptual understanding and internalisation of subject-specific procedures, skills and strategies. This activity shows teachers and materials developers ways of fostering deep learning by paying attention to the development of students’ subject specific literacies.

Objectives of the activity

To explore and practise…

  • a deeper understanding of the role of CLIL;
  • the transition to pedagogical and didactic approaches to Pluriliteracies for Deeper Learning;
  • understanding of deeper learning episodes and their role in progression and transfer.

  • Teachers at secondary and vocational level
  • Teacher educators
  • Educational authorities responsible for CLIL programmes

Working languages

Trainings can be conducted in English, French and German.
