Storyboard That, a storyboard creator

Story creators

Description: Storyboard That is a digital tool for creating storyboards, comic strips, and visual narratives. Users can choose from a library of characters, scenes, and props to customise their storyboard layouts and add text to create dialogue and narration. Storyboard That provides a limited free version, and requires users to sign up for an account to create and save storyboards. It was developed by Aaron Sherman.

Evaluation: Storyboard That is a useful resource to bolster creative writing and storytelling. Students can easily customise their characters and backgrounds to their liking and choose the layout of their storyboard, making it engaging and entertaining. However, the free version limits the number of storyboards to two a week together with their length, so it is mostly suitable for short stories. It also makes Storyboards open to every user, which is something that teachers should keep in mind.

Cost: Free with registration + paid plans available.
