Thinglink , an image and video annotator

Bookmarking

Description: ThingLink is a digital tool for annotating images and videos with content such as text, images, videos, or links. It functions by allowing individuals to upload an image or video and then annotate it with interactive hotspots. These hotspots can contain multimedia content, providing viewers with contextual information or additional resources related to specific parts of the image or video. Annotated videos or images are then hosted on Thinglink and can be shared and embedded on other websites. ThingLinks offers a limited free version. Users are required to sign up for an account to create interactive content, but that is not required for visualising content alone. ThingLink was developed by Ulla-Maaria Engeström and Jyri Engeström, and it was launched in 2011.

Bewertung: The teacher interface is simple and easy to use. The free account is limited to tagging images only. The tool offers a relatively easy way of adding at least some interactivity to an otherwise static image. Students can get involved by, e.g., tagging an image with a Google Form (where students need to provide an answer), as well as tagging images and sharing with the rest of the class. The limitation is that only one student can work on an image at a time.
