Flubaroo, a browser extension for grading
Marking and feedback
Description: Flubaroo is an extension for Google designed to grade assignments and quizzes. It automates the grading process by analysing student responses and providing instant feedback. Users, primarily educators, can employ Flubaroo for grading conducted via Google Forms. Flubaroo is free, but users need to have a Google account and install the Flubaroo add-on in Google Sheets. Flubaroo was developed by Dave Abouav, a software developer.
Evaluation: Flubaroo is particularly helpful and time-saving for teachers since it automatises grading, generates detailed performance reports, and facilitates data analysis of grades. It has a moderate learning curve, mainly requiring familiarity with Google Sheets and Forms, so average IT skills are sufficient for use. Its website is easy to navigate, but it still includes a complete step-by-step written tutorial about how to use the tool, a video tutorial and a discussion forum.
Cost: Free without registration. The browser extension must be installed, together with Flubaroo's Google Sheets add-on extension..
