YouGlish, a pronunciation tool with real-world examples

Autonomous learning

Description: YouGlish is an online tool that provides real-world video examples of words and phrases in context. Users can type any word or phrase in the search bar and instantly access a collection of YouTube videos where the word or phrase is used. YouGlish also provides you with a phonetic breakdown of words. It currently supports over 20 languages in different accents. YouGlish is free to use and does not require users to sign up for an account, although logging in provides access to more functionalities. It was developed by Dan Barhen.

Evaluation: YouGlish is a handy and easy-to-use tool for learning pronunciation in context in various accents and languages. Besides providing examples of how a word is pronounced, YouGlish also provides definitions and synonyms by clicking on a word, so it is useful for vocabulary acquisition.

Cost: Free.
