TaskCards, a virtual pinboard for collaborative working
Virtual pinboards
Description: TaskCards is a GDPR-compliant digital platform which was specifically created for educational purposes. It helps create and manage virtual pinboards, i.e. canvases where content can be uploaded and shared. Users can create and customise their pinboards by attaching text, images, videos, links and files, together with changing their background and much more. The privacy settings of these pinboards - or parts of a pinboard - can later be modified. TaskCards offers a free limited version that allows users to have up to 2 pin boards. While teachers have to register to create pinboards, learners can access them directly via link or QR code. TaskCards is developed by the German firm dSign Systems GmbH.
Evaluation: TaskCards is a valuable, low-threshold tool for teachers to create and share content. It also supports collaborative working, such as group work in the classroom. This tool is very similar to Padlet. It works just as well, with an emphasis on privacy. So far it is only available in German.
Cost: Free + paid options available.
