Description: VoiceThread is a collaborative tool for creating, sharing, and discussing presentation slides by attaching various forms of media, including images, videos, documents, and audio recordings. Users can upload media files to Voicethread and then add voice or text comments to create interactive discussions around the content. VoiceThreads can be set as private within a group or completely accessible for anyone with a link. VoiceThread offers a limited free version that allows creating 5 VoiceThreads, requiring only an email address for account creation. It was created by Steve Muth.
Evaluation: VoiceThread is a wonderful tool for language teachers to facilitate discussion outside of the classroom. It can also be used as a presentation tool for students, particularly for team projects since it allows different users to contribute to the slides by typing texts or recording their voices and simultaneously work on the same project.

VoiceThread collects two types of information: information voluntarily provided by users (such as name, email address, telephone number, password, and profile photo when creating an account) and information collected automatically, which includes the frequency and duration of user visits, device-specific information, log information, and location information, but only when users explicitly opt-in. However, this data is collected with the sole purpose of optimising the service. VoiceThread does not sell or rent user information to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Aggregated and non-identifying information may be shared publicly. Regarding security, VoiceThread employs administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect user information, together with encryption technologies to secure data transmission.
